Commercial Aquaponics

The project started on 3/28/13 and ended 1/7/14

I began with an estimate that the project would take 3-4 months and wound up taking 8 months and is still incomplete.

I wont be finishing this one, my partner and I have had our issues and can't seem to work past them and are calling it quits.  I'm definitely sad about this, but that's the way it went.  I learned alot on the building end from mistakes and experimentation.  In the end it wasn't the construction or design research that ended the project, but our ability to work together.

The heating system was designed by AIM heating  (would not recommend them) and used 27 -9 kWh and required a new electric service to be added to the power pole just for the greenhouse.
Put this way, with an electric rate of $.11 per kW from the power company;

 Heating costs (monthly)
9 kW @ 8 hours = $7.92  ($237.60)
9 kW @ 16 hours = $15.84  ($475.20)
9kW @ 24 hours = $23.76  ($712.80)

27kW @ 8 hrs = $23.76  ($712.80)
27kW @ 16 hrs = $47.52  ($1425.60)
27kW @ 24 hrs = $71.28  ($2138.40)

The total spent on the Aquaponic system minus the heater was just shy of $12,000

I am now free to peruse other interests but first I take a vacation in the woods for a while.  That said I hope to find peace in my self in the next few months, this was the most stressful, expanding and exciting thing I have put myself through. awsome experience.

Service Panel/Busted Pipes

Electrician came and installed the electric service panel and grounds.

 Ground

4g Wire

Four copper pipes burst when we neglected to drain the system one night.

A blessing In disguise, it turns out that the company that made made the heating panel forgot to solder a joint (shown by the pipe with bare copper)
